Mental health status of nursing students of Dong A university during the period of social distancing by COVID-19

Abstract
Objective: Describe the mental health status and identify some factors related to the mental health of nursing students at Dong A University, from December 2021 to January of 2022. Objects and research methods: Using a cross-sectional descriptive study with 540 nursing students from Dong A University participating in an online survey. Mental health was measured using the DASS 21 scale including depression, anxiety, and stress. Results: The percentage of nursing students with depression, anxiety, and stress was 23.1%, 36.1%, and 22.2%, respectively. Associate nursing students have lower rates of depression, anxiety, and stress than regular nursing students. Some factors related to mental health in nursing students at Dong A University were indicated in this study including age, living area, work status, marital status, number of children, voluntary study care and type of program of students.
