Định hướng khai thác múa dân gian Khmer Nam Bộ thành sản phẩm du lịch tại thành phố Cần Thơ

Abstract

Can Tho city is known as a riverside city with three main ethnic groups, including Vietnamese, Khmer and Chinese. Can Tho city has a very convenient location for the circulation of means of transport and possesses many outstanding resources for tourism development. In addition to typical river-borne and fruit garden tourism products, traditional art will also bring an equal attraction to visitors. The Southern Khmer folk dance art has great value in the traditional art of the Southern Khmer in general and the Khmer in Can Tho in particular. The value of the Southern Khmer folk dance is not only recognized in terms of social communication but also in historical and cultural aspects. The purpose of this article is to introduce the unique features of the Southern Khmer folk dance and orient to exploit this performance art form into tourism products of Can Tho city. By means of qualitative research, the research results show that Can Tho city can turn the Southern Khmer folk dance into a new tourism product. Product models are also proposed through the assessment of the current status and potential factors for discussion in this research paper.
