THE ASSOCIATION BETWEEN SLEEP QUALITY AND DINNER CHARACTERISTICS OF LAW STUDENTS AT DONG A UNIVERSITY IN 2025
Main Article Content
Abstract
Sleep plays a crucial role in the physical and mental health and learning ability of individuals, especially students. Currently, there are not many studies on the students’ dinner characteristics in Vietnam. Therefore, this study aims to assess the proportion of poor sleep quality among law students and determine its association with dinner characteristics. A cross-sectional study was conducted on 122 law students at Dong A University in 2025. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and the Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) for dinner over the past month were used. The results showed that 58,2% of students had poor sleep quality (PSQI >5). Frequent consumption of ‘banh mi’ and street food was statistically significantly associated with poor sleep quality (p <0,05). 45,1% of students ate dinner between 3 and 5 hours before bedtime, consistent with sleep hygiene recommendations. In summary, poor sleep quality is highly common among law students.
