Quan hệ Nga – Đông Timor trong bối cảnh Đông Timor thúc đẩy hội nhập ASEAN (2015- 2022)

Abstract

This article analyzes the relationship between the Russian Federation and Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste (Timor-Leste) in the context of East Timor’s efforts to promote ASEAN integration during the period 2015-2022. Based on clarifying Russia’s “pivot to Asia” policy and Timor-Leste’s multilateral foreign policy strategy, the study focuses on examining key areas of cooperation such as political-diplomatic relations, economics, defense-security, and development cooperation. Simultaneously, the article analyzes the impact of strategic competition among major powers, Timor-Leste’s ASEAN integration, and international developments on bilateral relations. The research results show that while Russia - Timor-Leste relations are still limited in scale, they hold strategic significance in the context of the rapidly changing regional structure of Southeast Asia and the Indo-Pacific.
